Stacie & Todd

Todd made his comeback a year before Barbie's little sister joined them. I won't speculate whether Stacie is Tutti's real name or not , but she IS Todd's twin sister. Or, to be correct Todd is Stacie's twin brother. Stacie is claimed to be "Littlest sister of Barbie^®" on the first boxes, and Todd the "Twin brother of Stacie^®". Not a word that he is Barbie's little brother...

The first issue of Todd was in a six doll Gift Set with Midge, Alan, Barbie, Ken and a new little girl who everyone thought was the comeback of Tutti: the Flower Girl Kelly. Kelly & Todd were also sold at Toys 'R Us in a two doll Gift Set. The box doesn't say anything though about Todd being the reissued twin brother from the '60s, it only states that he is the Ring bearer. Kelly and Todd share the same head mold copyright marked 1990.

The first Stacie that came 1991 had a set of clothes that she shared with Barbie (!) - they don't exactly have the same size, but somehow they could share wardrobes... Next year the first African American Stacie was released.

In 1994 Stacie and Todd made friends with two girls, the redheaded Whitney and the black girl Janet. Two cute little girls that had the same facial features as Stacie.

There is a black Todd doll too. Well two actually. Toys 'R Us had two sets of dolls in 1994 and 1995 with Barbie, Stacie and Todd sharing Barbie's Wedding Dreams in both white and black versions. These two are the only African American Todd dolls available. He is sooo cute!

There has been made other dolls with the same body molds as these kids, like the Timeless Treasure series from 2001-02: When I Read I Dream. They had all the same head mold, a new one from 2000. See them here:

In 2011 there was a Christmas video released with Barbie and her sisters (I wonder where Todd has disappeared to, they must have sent him off for adoption or something) and with that a new set of dolls were made. Stacie has grown and is now taller than Skipper was in the 60's. She looks like a young teen. She has a taller body but still slim - and she is taller than Teen Skipper once was. Body and head are marked 2010.
