In 2002 we saw the release of a new
black doll with rooted hair. This same year came 40th Anniversary Ken and
Concert Date Ken, both with a rooted shortcut afro. The markings can be found in the neck: ©1991-1997 Mattel Inc Concert Date Ken |

The doll above was sold in Europe as
Concert Date Steven and not as black Ken. Same deal as with the first black
Barbie in 1980 and all ethnic Barbies or Kens since.
