Li'l FriendsTM of Kelly®
Kelly made friends with three little girls the year after she was introduced to the world. In 1996 these Li'l Friends could be found: Becky (who only was available for one year), Chelsie and Melody who was called Susie in Europe. The next year she got more friends when the Hispanic Marisa, Asian Jenny (Julie in Europe), and African American Deidre (not in Europe of course) joined the gang. Now they were 6 cute little girls playing in the nursery. This was soon to be changed. For two years the group looked like this but in 1998 and 1999 the whole village just exploded in little friends and must have filled a BIG DayCare center. They now are called not just Li'l Friends but Adventures with Li'l Friends with a name, like Bunny, Dress Up, Schooltime (aren't they a little young for that?) or something else that they do. All of the Li'l Friends share the same two headmolds,
the one with teeth and the closed mouth mold. Besides of
Tommy they are all girls. I feel a bit sorry for Tommy
and Todd that never got a boyfriend to play cars or
football with. OK, OK. We girls can do anything! I know,
but just as important it is for a little girl to have
girlfriends, it must be for a boy to have another boy to
play with? At the turn of the Millennium even more Li'l Friends were added, but now the "Li'l Friends" are gone from the boxes and they are called Kelly Club. Does this have anything to do with the new baby sister Krissy? Kelly not being the "Li'lest" any more? Even Kelly herself joined the "narrowboxline". As these Li'l rascals seems to be duplicating like rabbits I had to split this page into two so on this page you will find Caucasian and Asian friends and on Page 2 the Hispanic and AA friends. |
