Takara and
MaBa (Mattel-Bandai) in Japan made Barbie dolls under license for a period. They
used their own sculpts for these dolls (Barbie looks like the more common
Jenny dolls). Ken had a young look with rooted
hair and eyes painted in brown with other colored high lights. These dolls were only sold on
the japanese market but quite a few have managed to find their way out in
the world.
