Velvet & Silk.
|
Pure silk. I found a striped silk in one of our
supplystores. As the stripes went length-wise I had to buy quite a big
piece of it to get what I wanted. It's a very dark silk because of the
fact that the weave-thread is black but highlights in many different
colors from the warp-threads. The fabric shimmers in different lighting.
The bodice of this particular gown is a greyish pink that I added a
black tulle with lamédots in many colors. The skirt is silver/gold/red/blue/green/pink/brown/
antique gold. Might have missed one color or two since I don't have the
actual fabric here. Christie also wears a bolerojacket with puffarms in
the pinkish grey poly-silk.
I have also made one of these with a grey bodice. Both are given to friends. |

Black velvet accented with purple and green and golden lines in a stylish flowerpattern. The green can hardly be seen, but the purple is vaguely visible. As bodice I found a piece of purple poly-silk that got a lining of a green polyester. There is a black and gold ribbon sewed at the hem. Baywatch Barbie makes a beautiful model in this one. |

The beautiful blue and silver-lamé in this gown comes from an old dress... I almost regret cutting it to pieces but noone could wear it at the time so into the scissors' grip it went. Bodice is made of silver-lamé and I added loose sleeves to it. | |
