March of Dimes, Walk America Barbie & Kelly Gift Set, ©1998

The Walk America movement was to gather money for baby causes, premature borns, sick babies etc. In 2007 the Walk America event chanegd name to March for Babies. Mattel made these Barbie and Kelly sets in time for the 1999 March of Dimes and was sold exclusively at Kmart.

Barbie is wearing a pair of black pants to a jacket in red, white and black and a cap with the Walk America logo in front. White sports shoes for a comfortable walk. Kelly has matching clothes with black shorts and a white t-shirt with the Alk America logo in front. She has a red satin band in her hair. Sha also wears a pair of white sneakers. Barbie can pick her tired-of-walking baby sister up and put her in a carrier pack on her back.
Caucasian Barbie sports the Mackie face and the AA version the Nichelle sculpt. Kelly has the open mouth sculpt.
