Kelly Kollectors United. Kelly disappeared and Chelsea took her place (not
to be confused with her friend Chelsie, which might be confusing, come to
think of it) - to
the dismay of a big collector community. Or Kommunity. Kelly Kollectors
spell most k pronounced c-s with a k. Kelly. The original Kelly had three
different face sculpts. Well, actually four but one was used for a friend
only.
Kelly's first face had an open mouth, for sucking a formula bottle or a
pacifier. Second sculpt was an open smile mouth, at first without painted
teeth, lateron they were painted white. Third sculpt was a closed mouth. The
second and third are the most used ones, for Kelly and her friends.
Suddenly Mattel decided to make Kelly with an elongated body, long arms and
chunky hands and a crazy wide sculpt. Kollectors called this the Lemon Head
as it looked like a lemon! A sideways lemon. The sculpt was soon withdrawn
(but was used for small Fairytopia dolls) and a new era began. The dolls got new bodies with no necks and new head
sculpts. I am unsure how many of them were used for Kelly herself.
