The Rosebud babies were a set of small toddlers with chubby legs and arms. There were three different head molds for the kids but the research made by Michael J. Augustyniak's and mine differs. They might have been made with different faces but the ones I list here are the ones I found with the sculpt I just named I, II and III. He has put them differently to each head mold (and the pictures in his book Thirty Years of Mattel Fashion Dolls of the dolls I may, or may not have, are too small to see). The II/Gold and III/Scarlet was only used with the Rosebud babies as far as I can tell so far.

The first sculpt is the most used one. It has a pronounced chin and pinch-itchy cheeks. Why I dubbed this #1 is just because A Baby Darling Rose had the lowest stock number of the Rosebud baby dolls. This is the head mold later used for the Heart Family twins and their friends, the Barbie Li'l Friends and a few other toddlers.

The Rosebud baby head got a new mold in the mid nineties whern Teacher Barbie was released. I can't for my life understand why the boys got molded hair all of a sudden. The girls still had long hair in all versions. Now, I don't remember if there was any Asian kids released but there was a Caucasian, a Hispanic and an AA set of kids. These came assorted in the boxes, a white, latina or black Teacher Barbie with a girl and a boy in different skin tones or the same. At the time Mattel had mail order so you could order for a set of kids and friends of mine helped me get the full set (besides the Asian if there ever were any).
