The Color Reveal Chelsea series got a couple new faces, made in hard plastic. This is due to the color changing feature. The Mermaids has rooted hair, hence regular soft heads, but when the whole doll is dipped in paint, the head is made of hard plastic. So far the kids all have the same face with the hair sculpted differently. These heads doesn't have any dates - just as Barbie doesn't, so the copyright year is based on the whole body.

The first head for the girls has a swirl ponytail type of hairdo, with the front hair slicked to the head and the rest "gathered up" to the hole in the back of the head, where to put a loose ponytail.
