Sweet 16 is a doll that never made it very big. In Japan the same sculpt was used for the Eli dolls and she is very sought after. The reason would be that Japanese dolls are very popular. Many Sweet 16 have been used to make Eli dolls. Sweet 16 is a cheap economy version of a doll, with thin rooted hair.
The head is stamped inside the rim of the neck but there is no year on my doll. I am hoping Gerry will share some photos of his Eli girls and possibly a stamp with a year. Don't hold my breath on that though. Gerry came through with photos, but no stamps as I predicted. Thank you for letting me show them!

Japan had a wonderful doll made with the same sculpt as the Sweet 16 doll. Eli came in two versions, Living Eli and Sun Sun Eli. As these dolls are so rare in the rest of the world, people often use the Sweet 16 doll to make Eli. My friend Gerry have the Living Eli in original, as well as some madeover Sun Sun Elis and I am hoping he will share them with me to share with you.
