Miss Barbie was the first doll with a special feature. She had blinking
eyes. Her head is made of hard plastic and often had a bad reaction with the
rubber in the wigs or her original wig cap. To avoid this, collectors put
something between the head and whatever added to her, to avoid melting and
plastic merging.
